About
Luca Brading is an in-demand saxophonist, multi-instrumentalist and composer based in Melbourne, Australia. His musical inspiration stems from a love of improvised music, jazz and RnB. He has had success as a bandleader, with multiple jazz ensembles including his sellout shows ‘The Music of Mobley’ and 'Stan Meets Chet', and as a sideman working with Melbourne based and International artists.
Outside of his own projects, Luca has worked with a number of young and upcoming musicians both in the studio and on stage including Brad Bellard, MÖZE, Alisya Rae and more. While working with these acts, Luca has shared stages and studios with leading Australian musicians such as Julien Wilson, Andrea Keller, Ash Grunwald, David Arden and Wanderers. Throughout his travels, Luca has also performed internationally with jazz musicians in Tokyo, Japan.
Luca graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2024 specialising in Jazz and Improvisation. There he honed his musical prowess under the teachings of saxophonists Carlo Barbaro and Julien Wilson, and trumpeter Mat Jodrell. In 2022, he was a recipient of the Ormond Exhibitions Scholarship for excellence within his Bachelor of Music studies.
